As a disabled pensioner, I was very happy to find a dedicated 'blue badge' parking bay, which I was able to keep for the full length of my stay...be aware you cannot reserve them and it is on a first come first served basis. The car park has very limited parking so keep this in mind if you go out in your car. The hotel has 4 EVCP as well. My one gripe with my accommodation was the bed. I had booked a double room, but because the receptionist saw me using my stroller for mobility, she felt a dedicated, disability room, with the large ensuite would be easier... however this meant that I forfeited the double bed and ended up with a VERY small single!!! I'm a big man and weigh in at approximately 17st... and the bed was probably the smallest I've ever been in? Definitely not a choice I would make again. The continental breakfast is really good. You get multiple choices of cereals, breads, cheese, ham and meat, preserves and fruit juice. Tea and coffee are from a machine, so if they are busy and you want this service, the queue can be quite slow and stressful. Unfortunately they only have 1 machine...so the problems are common. One great thing about this hotel is the fact that you can buy a pint of Magner's cider for £4.00. They also do a meal deal with a pizza and a beer for £13.45...which is very good value. Finally, I must congratulate this venue's wonderful staff, particularly the receptionists...who were excellent. But special praise must be given to Tina. She was outstanding and went above and beyond to ensure every guest was looked after. She is a font of all knowledge, on all things to do with Portsmouth and she is happy to help you with any issues you may have? A great asset to the hotel.

It might be a budget hotel but attention to detail in the room was more like a 5-star! - Lovely folded towels on the bed, a lovely little fold on the loo roll in the toilet and super clean and comfy - plus hair shampoo and body wash in the shower! Bed was super comfy too and after a long day travelling from France to the ferry, had the best night 's sleep in ages! Reception staff were super helpful and lovely - Tina was amazing - we didn't arrive til about 10.30 at night - I had a hotwater bottle with me as had a bad back so she gave us a kettle for the room so I could fill it up again with hot water - and some teabags and milk so we could have a very welcome cuppa! She was so kind and friendly and super helpful - defo 5-star service at a budget price. would stay again for sure!

I honestly think all the Ibis' are run well in any terraine, also like the ergonomic and anthro friendly layouts i.e very civilised even in budget versions intuitive placement of ameneties etc, well placed towels and soap! just lovely! Love the room lighting and the memory foam bed lol.. Breakfasts in main venues are absolutely spot on at all levels, eggs done right, really good sausage and nicely cooked good back bacon hash browns are wicked too and it'll take til gone lunchtime to feel hungry again! Budget breakfast is good and varied yet not always to brit tastes! these bods in chsrge hsve to compare the value of conti versus brit breakfast to me it requires no thought! brit is it ! Love it just wish i could get some loyalty discounts!

Check in was brilliant. Staff member Tina was excellent. She has an excellent manner with guests and went over and above to help everyone, even a 'very very difficult' guest!!! We have travelled to the UK regularly due to now living in Spain. I have to say, Tia was like a friend I've known for years! I mention this as I feel very strongly that staff members should be recognised by guests to management when they make "very stressed" guests so welcome. This is the first time we have stayed in Portsmouth and your Ibis budget hotel, but I know it won't be the last. All staff were very friendly, professional and welcoming, but Tina stood out as the best to both myself and my husband!! Hence my strongly felt comments! Well done, 5* Tina!!!!!

The hotel and my room were very good. It was maybe a 15-minute walk from the train station, and near to some big supermarkets and a residential area. Very quiet at night. The receptionist who checked me in was efficient and helpful. My room was simple, but clean and comfortable. Linen and towels were good quality. Breakfast was fine, quite simple as it's the Ibis Budget hotel chain, but there was enough variety of cereals, muffins, yoghurt, juice, tea, coffee etc. Very good service from start to finish.
